Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information BlueCollarIntel collects, where it comes from, how it is used and shared, and the choices and rights available to the people and businesses it concerns. BlueCollarIntel builds evidence-backed intelligence about businesses, and this policy describes how personal information is handled within that work.
01Who we are
BlueCollarIntel, Inc. (“BlueCollarIntel,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides ownership-continuity infrastructure for essential businesses. We map markets of operating businesses and assemble evidence-backed intelligence about the companies within them, supporting decisions from discovery through monitoring.
This policy applies to blucollarintel.com, our applications and services, and our communications with you (together, the “Services”). It covers personal information about visitors, account holders, professional users, and individuals who appear in business records we process. Questions about it can be sent to privacy@blucollarintel.com.
02Information we collect
Information you provide. When you request access, create an account, contact us, or use the Services, you may give us your name, work email, phone number, employer or organization, role, and the content of your messages and requests.
Information created through use. As you use the Services we record account activity, the queries and records you view, the actions you take, saved items, and preferences, so that we can operate the product, keep an access history, and maintain security.
Device and connection information. We automatically receive technical data such as IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring pages, and timestamps, collected through server logs and similar technologies.
Business information from external sources. Most of the information in the Services is about businesses rather than individuals. Some business records nonetheless include personal information about owners, officers, and other individuals connected to a business. The sources of that information are described in the next section.
03Where business information comes from
BlueCollarIntel assembles intelligence from sources it is permitted to use, and it keeps the origin of each item on record. Those sources include:
- Official and government records, such as business, licensing, and regulatory registries.
- Licensed data obtained from providers under agreements that govern its use.
- Publicly available information, including business listings, filings, and published materials.
- Information that businesses, professional users, or their authorized representatives provide directly to us.
We resolve information to the business it belongs to, apply a review threshold before a match is accepted, and route ambiguous cases for human review. Each material item carries its source, its state, its known limits, the access rules that apply to it, and its history. Where a source restricts how its data may be used, we honor those restrictions.
04How we use information
We use information to:
- Provide, operate, secure, and improve the Services.
- Build and maintain evidence-backed intelligence about businesses, with the provenance of each item preserved.
- Resolve records to the correct business and keep them current.
- Create and manage accounts, authenticate users, and enforce permissions.
- Respond to your requests, provide support, and communicate about the Services.
- Monitor for, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use the content of your account activity to build advertising profiles.
05Our bases for processing
Where the law requires a specified basis for processing personal information, we rely on one or more of the following: performance of a contract with you; our legitimate interests in operating and improving the Services and in producing accurate business intelligence, balanced against the interests and rights of the individuals concerned; compliance with legal obligations; and, where applicable, your consent, which you may withdraw at any time.
07Business information and personal information
The Services are built to produce intelligence about businesses. Information about a company, its operations, its licenses, and its market is business information. Where a record includes information that identifies an individual, for example a named owner or officer, that information is treated as personal information and is subject to this policy.
No outcome is reported without evidence. Where an item is not established, it is marked as unknown rather than inferred, and the record shows what is missing.
08How long we keep information
We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide the Services, maintain the evidence and access history that the Services depend on, meet our legal and contractual obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Retention periods vary with the type of information and the purpose for which it is held. When information is no longer needed for these purposes, we delete or de-identify it.
09How we protect information
We maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information against loss, misuse, and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. Our security program is described on our Security page at blucollarintel.com/security. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10International transfers
We operate in the United States and Canada and may process information in either country and in the countries where our service providers operate. Where information is transferred across borders, we take steps to ensure it remains protected consistent with this policy and applicable law.
11Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to request its deletion, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to receive a copy in a portable form. Residents of California have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended, including the rights to know, delete, correct, and limit, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them. Residents of Canada have rights under applicable privacy legislation, including PIPEDA.
Correcting a business record. Because the Services maintain evidence-backed records about businesses, we take the accuracy of that information seriously. If you believe a record that concerns you or your business is inaccurate or incomplete, contact us and we will review it against its evidence and correct it where warranted, keeping a record of the change.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@blucollarintel.com. We will verify your request and respond within the time required by applicable law. You may use an authorized agent where the law permits, and you will not receive different service for exercising your rights.
13Children
The Services are intended for use by businesses and professionals and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
14Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in the Services or in applicable law. When we make a material change, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Services after an update means you accept the revised policy.
15Contact us
